NEW YORK — Barbie received a dose of body proportion reality last month when parent company Mattel announced three new body types would be coming to the iconic doll later this year.
But at the 2016 International Toy Fair in New York City this weekend, Mashable received a sneak peek of the new models aimed to represent more realistic body types (curvy, petite and tall). The dolls are a part of Barbie’s “Fashionistas” lineup, which — in addition to new body types — includes seven skin tones to reflect various races and ethnicities, 18 different eye colors and 24 hair styles.
