Sundance Festival-goers can helicopter into Park City with Uber-like app

LOS ANGELES — Anyone who’s flown in for the Sundance Film Festival knows you have to build in an hour to drive from the Salt Lake City airport to Park City. But not anymore.

For less than $100 per person, a group of six people arriving at the Salt Lake City International Airport can take BLADE, an app-enabled helicopter ride that takes all of 10 minutes, skids-up to skids-down. Technically it’s $599 for the entire 6-seat chopper, which customers must fill themselves — but split it six ways, that’s still less than what you’d pay to ride alone in a car service or cab.
